About each section

Ages 6–8 · Snr Infants–2nd class

Beavers

First taste of scouting. Beavers make friends, play games, do crafts and try simple cooking and outdoor activities. You work in a Lodge, earn badges and get ready for bigger adventures ahead.

Ages 9–11 · 3rd–5th class

Cubs

Time to explore. Cubs go on trips, learn camp cooking, knots and map skills, and take part in team challenges. You earn badges, go on sleepovers and build the confidence to move up to Scouts.

Ages 11–15 · 6th class–3rd year

Scouts

Real adventure. Scouts camp out, hike the Dublin Mountains, do night walks and run their own patrols. You learn leadership, first aid and bushcraft, and go on camps you help plan.

Ages 15–17

Ventures (BVG)

Ballinteer Venture Group puts you in the driver's seat. Each week, two or three Ventures plan and run the meetings themselves, building teamwork and leadership as the planning team rotates. Recent trips have included a camp in Luxembourg, Camp Aurora, and a night hike. Upcoming: Group Camp and a trip to Wales.

Ages 18–26

Rovers

Young adults who keep the adventure going. Rovers run their own programme of expeditions, socials and service, and often support younger sections. Get in touch to find out more.
